Music Policy - there is none! One of the questions I get asked a lot is “how do you know what to play?” Well the truth is, I don’t… well not until I get on the decks and look at the crowd! Disco, Indie, Rock, Soul… whatever it takes. To be honest, these days most of the crowd that come to hear me know what they are going to get, tunes that made you what you are today. I recently did an interview and the guy, AH Barnes, the 80/90s Music Critic said “Ok tell me the last few tunes you were listening to in the car”. Took a bit of time but here it is: Resurrection - The Stone Roses Somebody else’s Guy - Jocelyn Brown The Champion - Willie Mitchell Know How – Young MC Two Can Play That Game - Bobby Brown Young Hearts - Candi Staton Jump Around - Cypress Hill What’s my Number - Toot and the Mayalls Town Called Malice - The Jam The love I lost - Harold Melvin The Boys are back in Town - Thin Lizzy The Bee Gees – Night Fever I feel Love –Donnaaa Car Wash-Rose Royce Disco Inferno –The Tramps Good Times – Chic Boogie Wonderland – EWF Got to Give it Up – King Marvin Gaye The Backstabbers – The O`Jays You see the Trouble with me – Big Bazza White Do I love you – Frank Wilson Out on the Floor – Dobie Grey Landslide – Tony Clarke There’s a Ghost in my House – R Dean Taylor Rhythm is a Mystery- K -Klass Love will tear us apart - Joy Division Come see about me - The Supremes I love Music – Ojays Got to give it up– Marvin Gaye True Faith – New Order Rappers Delight- The Sugar Hill Gang Laid –James Just Like Heaven- The Cure Wrote for Luck – Happy Mondays Voodoo Ray – A guy Called Gerald Anthem – N-Joi Such a good feeling – Brothers in Rhythm That’s the way love is – Ten City Can you Feel it – Mr Fingers I Got the Key I Got the Secret – The Urban Cookie Collective It’s not over – Grace Pacific State – 808 State Street fighting man – The Rolling Stones Another One bites the Dust – Queen Sweet Child of Mine – Guns and Roses Mr Brightside – The Killers She’s Electric – Oasis For all you die hard purists out there , even though I am showing a Vinyl which I obviously used back in the day I now use CDs. It all sounds very “keeping it Real” however I have had my fill off humping boxes of vinyl up and down stairs., ha ha. Anyway to my credit I have not moved on to laptop – now we are talking soulless!! Pimp my tunes By now I think you can see that I love all music. What I have listed is a variety of what I play , however, I am more than happy to work with you on what you would like to mainly hear on your night. I will be honest and say that I do not do whole nights of 70s or 80s etc ,what I tend to do is if you like 70s Disco as an example I usually play that for about 60 to 90 minutes at the peak of the evening. The rest is usually the classic dance from the last few years- Hence the title of my night “ back in the day” Disco , Motown, Funk, House[ Hacienda Classics] , Indie , Pop and Rock all commercial classic tunes. If it has a dance beat I will play it. What you have to remember is that you are paying me to entertain your wide variety of guests which usual means a wide variety of music requests.
